Hi Fern,
The IC-1500 was a short-lived OEM version of the ARD 230, built by the
now-defunct Advanced Radio Devices Inc. for Icom. You may be able to locate
an ARD-230 more easily than an IC-1500. Should repair ever be required, the
custom parts for the controller are unobtainable.
My good friend Matt KK5DR once had an ARD-230, and may be able to give you
some insight. Matt's e-mail address is on his website:

Cheers for now, 73,

Subject: [Icom] wanted IC-1500 linear
Does anyone know of the whereabouts of the IC-1500 tube type linear
that was going to be market by Icom but was manufactured by someone else
in the USA? I got one of the brochures while attending the Dayton Ohio
hamfest many years ago. It had 2 or 3 tubes tubes in the final and used
a remote head to control the functions of the amp. Icom pulled it all
from their advertising and came out with their IC-2KL solid state hf amp
just then.
Thanks from Fern
