[Icom] Problem with IC-PW1

I picked up a 2 year old IC-PW1 and it has worked great for two weeks.
This morning after it was on a few minutes, all the LED's lit up on the remote
control unit. I hadn't even transmitted.
Even though all the lights were lit, the amp actually worked correctly except it
wouldn't power off. I pushed all the buttons and could tell the AMP/PROTECT,
INPUT, ANT and METER functions worked correctly. This had happened once before
and I cleared it by unplugging it from the 240 AC. So when it happened this
morning I just unplugged it and went to work.
Tonight I plugged it back in and turned it on. Same thing, all LED's lit on the
control unit. I then thumped it with my finger and all the LED's went out and
both meters went half scale. But now none of the functions worked except the
power button. Thinking I might have a loose connection in the control head, I
took it apart and checked the control cable. It seemed secure. I then bypassed
the remote cable and plugged the control head directly into J3 on the amp but
got the same thing.
I did a reset by pressing the UP and DOWN buttons and turning on the power. No
help. I checked to make sure my 240 VAC was good and it is.
I have a feeling the problem is in the control head. However whenever I plugged
the amp into AC power it comes on automatically without the Power button.
Any suggestions? I guess I'll call Icom tomorrow and see if they have anything.
Man, great amp. Got it at a steal, but not looking so good right now.
I did notice one thing in the two weeks I had it (using it with a '775DSP and
CT-17 interface). Occasionally when in the receive mode, the amp would try to
jump bands very quickly. I would hear the relays and look and see the LED jump
from say, 14 to 7 and back to 14 quickly. I disconnected it from the CT-17 but
it still did it. I don't think this would be normal. So maybe it had a problem
all along.
Any suggestions other than send it back to Icom? I probably end up doing that,
but was hoping someone here on the Icom reflector might know a trick or two.
Thanks,
