[Icom] SM-8 with 775 DSP

I sold an SM-8 to a fellow a couple weeks ago. I was using it on the 756 I
just sold and my V8000. I had no trouble with it. He says it doesn't work.
His output is so distorted he is un-readable. I told him to check the cable
connections inside the base as well as the gain on the base. Are their any
issues using an SM-8 with the 775? I don't think the mic is bad. I think
it's settings or cabling. But I could be wrong.
