[Icom] Introduction of the IC-7800

Scott, I forgot about the rumble since I would never have been aware of it
until it was called to my attention. Even then, I was able to hear it only
because I use an audio system in the shack that can rattle the walls at 30
Hz. And I finally figured out the exceptional set of operating conditions
that one had to set up in order to hear it at all. I would bet that 99% of
all original PRO owners never were aware of the rumble at all. But it could
be brought out if you knew how, no argument there.

The rumble in the original PRO was, to me, such an insignificant matter,
that it truly slipped my mind. I suppose that it can be classed as a design
defect, but the results were so minor - at least in my case - that I would
not call it a black mark on the Icom brand.

Yep, I guess I have been lucky with my radios so far. I also forgot to
mention that my brand new 765 in 1990 had to go to the then local Icom
service to have the fan wiring corrected. Seems one wire got soldered to the
wrong place and the fan didn't want to run!

That makes two . . . see what happens when you get old?
