Jack, fused at 7A and runs 100W.no engine running..then your voltage is not
13.8V.  Ohms law says that 100W and 12V roughly is around 8A.  The fuse otta
be close to blowing.  And, that takes into consideration of 100% efficiency.

But here again, as a mic amp, is the current steady or does it rise/fall
with voice peaks.  If it rises and falls, then I can believe the plug does
not get warm.

I have seen too many plugs get warm and I am not even in the radio
installation business.  Just a few friends who do their own install, and
having observed over the years, these little plugs should be landfill.
