That is the correct mod for US units. Did you do the "reset" part after
removing W1? The CPU must be reset to take advantage of the mod, again if it
is a US version radio. Press and hold the "clear" button then turn the rig
on.
I just did it on a new 775DSP picked up last week and it works exactly as
advertised.
