The Drake amp is long gone. Sold as a parts rig.......

I unlike a lot of other people believe 100 % in matching equipment
utilizing the accy's from the OEM.

I have found too many times over the years that "as good as", "just like
the factory one", or "always worked fine for me on XXXX rig" has been a
constant source of problems.

For example, I have about 35 different mikes and I have tried almost
everyone on the 756PRO II even some of the highly acclaimed "better than
Icom mikes" and guess what I went back to the SM8's and the SM 20's. In
fact I just ordered 4 more SM 20's last week to replace some gold ones..

However, to each their own.......

I have to agree with Tim. I inherited an old SB-200, installed the Harbauch
upgrades (one of which being the equivalent of the Ampkeyer) and it works
great. I use a Yeasu transceiver and Kenwood desk microphone and get
excellent audio and signal reports. So unless there's something
fundamentally wrong with the Drake amp, I'd suggest you find a good home
for
it (if you haven't already).
