I fully agree with Tony, VE6CGX.  Opto relays are neat devices.  Also, you
could just use a transistor with a high enough Vce so as not to blow the
device.  This has been done in airborne applications, to eliminate a relay.
Relays do in time, fail.  Whether due to contact burning or just wear and
tear.  While the solid state transistor and/or opto device seldom fails
unless subjected to gross overvoltage.

Never ran an amp.well, I sold my 30L-1 which was seldom used with the S-3
Line or KWM-2A.  Collins stuff is gone now and use the Pro.

Have heard from many that the Pro II has a more sensitive relay than the
Pro.  Cannot say for certain, as with Tony, do not use an amp.
