Just can't resist adding a comment... And I've made this one before...

I don't agree with blanket statements that one should *always* use an
external relay!

There is a down side... This introduces additional switching delay...
Which is in itself a problem with QSK an perhaps some digital modes...
I.e. Amtor... (Is anyone still using it?)...
And with some rigs can also lead to hot-switching of the amplifier
change-over relay...

If your amp can safely be switched directly, that's the best way to go.
