I have used the Icom single earpiece boom microphone at many PS events.  I 
keep one  ear open for those I'm working with, the RX audio goes into the 
other.  The microphone seems quite acceptable, too.  I connect  it to the HT 
through a belt or wrist mounted PTT switch which allows momentary or locking 
PTT.  Consider it.
