[Icom] The 761

Hi Folks,

Well, the 761 is coming along nicely.  Tomorrow the cabinet will get a
complete strip and refinish so it will look new.

I am still tying to get the tuner adjusted properly since both of the drive
gears was also loose on the motor shaft. I reset them exactly as the shop
manual says, I think.  It is not real clear on this procedure.

I can only assume that a previous owner left the cover off the radio after
he unhooked the motor wiring and manually turned the gears.

I have both motors running fine now but I still cannot take the SWR to 1-1,
it will only go to 1-1.6   I can take it to 1-1 by just moving the gears a
tad by hand.

I am thinking that I may have to fiddle with the gear on the tuning caps
position.

Has anyone had experience with this?
