If my memory is correct, the AH4 is designed to sit at the base of the
antenna. It's not a PL259>PL259, but PL259>ant base. For that reason,
it specifies what bands will be tuned by a whip over so many feet long.
I have the AH3, love it, just doesn't cover 6 meters. Most of my mobile
work is with my work truck, so I'm out during the day. A 10 ft whip
works wonders on 10-30 meters. I've had several different antennas,
like this for ease with the 706Mk2. Just hit the TUNE button, and
you're ready to go.
