Hi Roy,
You are correct. The IC-746 has DSP at the final receiver IF (15 kHz).
Unlike the original IC-756, the transmitter still uses an analogue balanced
modulator for SSB generation.

That being said, I thought it wasn't much better than the AF DSP on the
706/718/R-75 (excellent at auto notch, pretty mediocre on noise reduction)
