[Icom] FT-100D vs. IC-706MKIIG

Ok, I need some advice here.  I am going to buying one of these radios
next week and want some input (pros and cons) about them.  I am strongly
leaning toward the FT-100D, but I want to hear from people about their
experiences with these radios.  I am planning on using it quite a bit
mobile, as well as doing some VHF/UHF work with it from him.  It will
only be a backup HF rig for me.  I am going to try some VHF weak-signal
(I know the HF IF/transverter route is better, but I want to do some with
this first).  So, what can you tell me about these two?
