I have a 781 that Randy KK7TV did the PIN diode mod on plus the power supply 
mod.  He kept the radio nearly 8 weeks.  Very expensive.  Very poor attitude. 
 I hated dealing with him.
The radio belonged to Sandy Meltzer, KW6KW.  I bought it from Sandy and had 
him ship it directly to KK7TV for those mods.  I paid Sandy $2800 for the 
radio and then wound up paying another nearly $700 to Randy for the mods and 
it took two months.
The radio is awesome though.  I bought new top and bottom covers for it from 
Icom for about $400...so I now have $3900 in it.
