Hello Bill,

You are right about paddles and keyer.

I count six adjustment screws to setup the paddles. Four for the distance of
the movement when you squeeze the paddels. And two for the weight of the
spring. Actually the setup is quiet easy.

As keyer I use the ETM-9COG. And I must say that this external keyer has
much (!) more features and operates smoother then the internal keyers of my
rigs. E.g. it has features like Auto-Space, Keying Compensation, NINE
different Time Patterns with or without dot and dash memory, Xmit Tune and a
lot more! Apart from the varity of features it really gives very smooth CW
"handwriting", with less mistakes (nobody is perfect...).

Next to the HA-paddles I use the Schurr Profi-2.
