I have a IC-756PRO purchased last year in March 2002 at a midwestern USA ham
store.
From what I gather by reading the postings on www.mods.de I believe by
removing diodes 3751 and 3752, I can open up the radio so that it will
generate RF on all HF frequencies. I also see that there is a problem with
using the new 5 MHz frequencies because of the bandpass filter (the 2 to 6
Mhz bandpass filter starts not passing rf at around 5.0 MHz.).
I have a 756PRO intended for the USA market, but I am unable to find any
notation on the circuit board that says it is a version 2 and not a version
3 which requires a different modification.
Could someone tell me how I can be sure this is the correct mod for my
radio?
Can someone tell me how I can find the version of my radio, or is version 2
the only version distributed in the USA ?
Please reply to [email protected] - thanks! I have put my email in the CC
address, so maybe "reply to all" will include that address.
