I dont have the HC5, but I use the HS706 with my MKII
and did notice that I wasnt getting the "juice out".
Cranked the mic gain up to max and that seemed to
solve the problem. Fortunately there was no distortion
either. I do remember seeing this being discussed on
the 706 list on yahoogroups. Someone did come up with
a mod.
