Hi Ed,

The gentleman was probably not driving the 2KL fully on the higher bands.
The power gain of the 2SC2652 output devices falls off above 21 MHz, so the
ALC and driving power should be adjusted for 500W output at 29 MHz. The
power gain is approx. 12 dB at 3.5 MHz, and falls to 8.5 dB at 28 MHz.

I was always able to achieve 500W output on all bands from my IC-2KL.

I will now finish what I started (I sometimes hate the touch pad on my
laptop...). I saw one of these on eBay today. Seller says it puts out 450 on
160-20 and 350 on 10 and 15. Is this normal?
