Hi Anders,

Very few answers to your question were seen here, therefore could not resist
to come up.

It's quite unclear what kind of ProSet you are using. The "IC" one (Icom
dedicated) should have an electret mike installed, but you mentionned HC-4
being a dynamic one.

I am using the 775DSP with a ProSet-4 and other mikes. Actually it should
not matter what kind of frame you are using for your Heil Element 4 or 5. I
mean , is it ProSet or ProSet Plus, it should not matter at all. The only
thing which is really important is the way you connect it to the radio.

Actually I used to use 2 Icom radios (756 and 775) with 2 Heil mikes, both
with HC-4 elements. In the both cases it worked fine provided, an
electrolitic capacitor is put in series with the mike with its "plus"
connected the radio's mike input. That's it. By doing that the dynamic Heil
mike is isolated from the constant current which presents on the Icom's mike
input, but the signal itself goes in the way it should and the mike sounds
the way it should.

As for the SM-20, are you sure, the "Low cut" on the mike's bottom is "On"?
If so, you should have plenty of mids and highs, as I do with mine. To be
honest, the "On-Off" are quite confusing. One should realize that when there
is "Off", it does not mean that the bass is off. Instead, the bass is On,
and when the switch is in the "On" position, the bass is cut off.

Obviously all the above is correct provided, the radio itself is in order...
Most probably it is, as long as the nandmike works OK.
