[Icom] Brand New ICOM 706 MKIIG with an odor

The overall consensus it pretty evenly split re: this problem between
"its serious" to "its normal" to "why sweat it its under warranty"

I had almost made up my mind to ride it out knowing I had a year
warranty.

That was until about ten minutes ago when a relay started "chattering"
while operating CW.

I'm going to drive it down to HRO Salem in the morning and hope they
honor their 10 day exchange policy.

I'll let you know how I make out.

Hello All,

My brand new ICOM 706 MKIIG has for lack of a better description a
warm/hot "electrical" smell when its on. It seems to be more obvious
while transmitting. I have another 706 MKIIG in my car that  doesn't
seem to have the smell . I was thinking that perhaps its because its new
, but I don't recall my other 706 having a smell when it was new.

The rig works fine and the fan is doing its thing as well.

Anyone else have any experiences re: this ?
