[Icom] Brand New ICOM 706 MKIIG with an odor

I've been hoping you would get an answer here on the reflector. Your
problem doesn't sound good. My 706 never smelled the way you describe,
but it runs very hot. I've had it for two years and it seems to work
fine. I just bought a new computer and got the same smell.
Unfortunately, I know from experience the smell of electrical
components burning up. There's no smell quite like it. That's what my
computer smelled like. But it's been going great for about two weeks
now. The smell is gone. Maybe these smells are just that initial
burning in of the components. Good luck.
