Not to be a cynic, but perhaps they keep it short to minimize the radiation
of spurs from the switching power supply.

Why does the PS-125 have such a short radio power cord (not line cord)?
Does anyone know of an extension cord that might be available?  The short
cord forces you to dedicate counter space to a logical under counter unit.
