[Icom] ICOM Warranty

I recently traded for a completely mint, like-new 746PRO which came with the
manual (never been opened!) and the warranty card. I believe that the radio
was originally purchased by the first owner on June 6, 2002.
The warranty card says that the unit is covered for one year from date of
purchase. My local dealer tells me, however, that you must have a copy of
the original sales slip in order for Icom to do a warranty repair. Having
the warranty card on file is just a formality.
