[Icom] IC-756

At the time Adam sold his IC-756, his statement on serial numbers was
probably correct. However, the clock keeps ticking and more IC-756s
(with higher serial numbers) keep failing.

Last August, I emailed the reflector, stating that my mid-3000 s/n
IC-756 took 3-1/2 years to develop the "blue line syndrome." After a
full year with intermittent blue lines appearing and disappearing, I
finally sent it to Clif at Avvid Electronics, who did a fine job
replacing the LCD - and for significantly less than Icom quoted.

After hearing from unhappy IC-756 owners worldwide, I can state with
some certainty that no serial number is safe. (I quickly sold my
repaired radio, so I can brag that the replacement LCD never failed.)
