I just received a T2H (not Sport) for Christmas and so far I have been =
very happy with the unit. I don't know what changes were to the Sport =
model but the original is a nice size, extremely rugged and has all the =
bells and whistles I need. The audio is very clear and there seems to be =
plenty of it. I have good audio reports on transmit as well. The =
antenna seems to work well. I can work one of the local repeaters at =
about 30 miles from within my house with no problems. Also had a local =
simplex QSO on low power from my cinder block classroom with no =
problem. I really needed to have the operator's manual to program the =
radio as it's not the most intuitive setup but there are only 2 =
repeaters I can reach without being at my base station, (including =
mobile!) so it was no big deal. I have the NiCad pack and charger as =
well as the AA battery case. A very handy setup. Maybe it's because the =
last and only HT I bought was in 1987 and had 3 whole memories, but my =
T2H is a great little radio. With any luck it will last 15 years too !!

Thinking about getting one of these HTs. Found one dealer that has them =
for $90, including the free battery pack that Icom was giving away for a =
promotion. Seems like an unbeatable deal. I would mainly be using it =
for bicycle mobile operating. WOuld like comments good or bad about this =
HT. How is the audio output on it? It can get kind of noisy bicycle =
mobile. Also, how does the stock antenna work? Anything else I should =
know about it?
Never see these for sale used, which makes me think one of two things:
1. They are great and nobody wants to part with them
2. They are cheap enough that everyone throws it away if they don't like =
it, figuring they won't get anything reselling it anyway.
hope #1 is true.
