Hi Mike,

x75 series were mature monoband rig (except 575 is dual band) from ICOM.
Their performance is in line with the top performers even in today's
standard.  I owned an IC275 before and still own a IC575A now.

While the IC756 families are having more functions and flexibilities, I
still keep my IC575A.  Anything heard by my IC756 is equally heard by the
little IC575A.

FT736R is a convenient rig with all sort of functions but the receiver is
comparatively noisy.  If you are living in urban areas among many big guns,
you may suffer from intermodulation QRM.  The x75 series from ICOM is far
superior than FT736R in this respect.  Clearly, if you are in a RF quiet
QTH, you may go for a FT736R.
