As the freq would indicate .. your going to need LOS.  And to stay
inside of power output restrictions of this unlicensed xmission, youll
also need a very directional antenna.  yagis and dish mods work the
best.

You'll take a hit on bandwidth running encryption et al since there is
so much overhead in the conversation.  Plan on max 1Mb throughput ..
but some very enterprising rigs have been able to sustain 35Km links,
and thats pretty cool.

btw - Don, if your lurking the r7000 whine automagically goes away
after time.  I finally got fed up with trying to xformer parts (there
are none) and assumed a "damn the torpedo's" posture and left on 24/7
for about a week decoding a trunked control channel.

ah well.
