[Icom] V8/T2 questions

I was all set to purchase a T2H sport today, and then
I read the Eham.net reviews.  Several reviewers
mentioned that you cannot charge the battery case with
a Maha C777 universal charger, because the contacts
are too far recessed to make connection with the
charger.  Well, that leaves me out, because that is
how I will charge the battery pack, with my Radio
Shack C777 clone. 

So now I find a good deal on a V8 HT.  Has anyone had
experience using this HT with the Maha C777 universal
charger?  If so, does it work OK?  Rapid charge in 1
hour or so?  Any other impressions of this HT?

Also, Has anyone found a way to use the C777 charger
with the T2H battery case?
