[Icom] New way for 706 to key amp

I have found a simple way to key my Alpha with the
706MKII:
I took a two inch high plastic pill bottle with a
screw top and drilled a hole in the top. A nice square
momentary push button was mounted in the top. Then I
drilled a hole in the bottom of the bottle and mounted
a RCA phono jack. Next, the switch and jack were wired
together and the top screwed on.

I plugged in the phono cable from the Alpha keying
line into the jack in the bottle. Now I can hold the
bottle in one hand and depress the switch with my
thumb which will key the amp. While holding in the
button I take the mike in the other hand and talk.
Works great.

This way there is no connection in the keying line
between the amp and the rig; therefore, no way to
damage the rig. This will be adequate for the next
week until my ProII arrives, after which there will be
no need to use the 706 with the amp.
