I have ben enjoying this thread and I recently switched from Collins and Drake to 99.9% Icom.
I have the 701, 718,730, 735,740,745,751,751A,761,765, 756, 2, 756 Pro's , 756 Pro II, IC 7400 ( 746PRO) 706 Mark II G and a few Icom tuners and Amps., a couple of Yahoos and a couple of Kantworks and several Ten-Tecs.
They all work surperb compaired to a collins on it's best day, even the old 701 will outperform a Rockwell KWM 380.
My all time favorite is the 756 PRO II bar none, it is the finest radio ever produced by man. Why so many rigs you wonder? Because I like them.
I did have the unofficial Collins musem in AR and now I am working on the Icom one.
