Hi,
Looking at years old tube BAs still going strong(there are many tubes
left in the world and still some
are made), I wouldn't worry about it. I fixed and recycled many stuffs
people were throwing out
because it is too expensive to fix or thought it's been had. If there
is no spare parts left, there is a way
to make it work somehow even by modifying the circuit. Good part of my
ham hobby is just that.
I only wish my eye sights last long. One side has suffered already.
Retina fell out and needed 3 surgeries
to stick it back on my left eye. I just fixed a DDS2 tape drive salvaged
from garbage. Just needed head
alignment. When I try to sell it so I can buy some DVD blanks, 3 guys
were fighting over it. Sold for 65.00
And I got 5 dual side DVD blanks on eBay.
