Graham,

I agree with you however there are some special circumstances. I live in=20
Seattle 300 feet from an electric bus system intersection which means lots=
=20
of monstorous bursts of rf from bus feelers skipping off the overhead=20
wires. Which in turn generates a lot of QRN.

I borrowed an audio DSP system & the noise-limiter function did an=20
excellent job removing the noise. But, because that puts it outside of the=
=20
AGC system, the IC-765 tends to get overwhelmed.

By the way, you said "get the factory upgrades". I live about 9 miles from=
=20
Icom so, if I keep the 765, I could get those upgrades. What are they? I'm=
=20
not aware of any.
