Commander will display CI-V message traffic between your PC and 7000, making
it easier to see whats going on. Commander is free, and available via
www.qsl.net/dxlab .

Subject: Re: [Icom] r7000 ci-v troubleshooting
Jerry from Deltacomm suggested the following:
>Connect the scope to the Black Data (+) lead, while the interface is
>connected to the receiver. Turn everything ON. Monitor this lead while
>turning the frequency dial. If the receiver CI-V port is working you
>should observe pulses going between ground and +5vdc. You should also
>see these pulses while selecting different modes of operation. This
>test doesn't guarantee the receiver port is OK but will give you a
>indication it looks OK.
Can anyone build upon this with ci-v tips?
