[Icom] IC-765 info needed

Stan, the procedure I used when I got my 765 in 1990 was to cut the diode -
period. I have never donethe "M-Clear" bit on power up.

With that diode cut, the microprocessor is no longer being told to restrict
transmit to the defined ham bands. As far as I know, this has nothing to do
with memory clear or the use of the M-Clear button to make it happen.

My serial number is around 2400 so things might have changed by then . . .

The 765 is a great old rig - despite now having a PRO, and PRO2 and a K2 on
the desk, the 765 remains just to look at if nothing else. It is still a
great old radio, although not in the performance class of the PROs. Wouldn't
take for mine!

Let me know what you find out about all this.
