[Icom] IC-735 problem and thanks

Hi Mic,
This sounds as if the 0 ~ 8 MHz HPL VCO is out of lock. (The HPL VCO box is
a small metal box on the PLL board, with four holes in a straight line). You
will need to wiggle the trimmer back and forth, and adjust it for the proper
lock voltage. At the same time, I would also recommend aligning the other
three VCO's (8 ~ 15, 15 ~ 22 and 22 ~ 30 MHz ranges). The long-term fix is
to replace all four plastic trimmers with ceramic parts.
I have no IC-735 documentation, but you can download a user manual and
schematics here:
http://www.rigpix.com/schematicsnstuff.htm
and an IC-735 service manual here:
http://80.162.141.166/mods.dk/manuals.php?radio=icom (56 MB file!)
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [Icom] IC-735 problem and thanks
First let me thank all that responed to my problem with the LPF section on
the IC-735, you all hit the nail on the head. One of the relay's in the 10mtr
section was stuck in the closed position. Now I have another problem with
the
IC-735. It has distorted receive audio on just the 160,80,and 40 mtr bands.
The other freq bands are all OK. It happens in the CW, USB and LSB modes.
The
audio sounds waterey or like there may be some AC in the DC voltage that
supply's the audio section. Any Ideas? Thanks agn.
