Tom, you should have a wide range of audio options built into the 746 Pro
itself. Have you tried these to improve your audio, or satisfy those who
have complained? I have a 746, not a Pro, but mic equilization is under the
TCN button (F4) on it. Not sure if that is of any help to a 746 Pro user or
not.
As far as microphones go, I like the SM 20 the best with my 746, but they
are expensive.
