Hi Folks,
My wife and I were having coffee tonight in the radio room on one of the
rare occasions that she goes in there and she asked, if you could only keep
2 models of each of the radios that you have, which ones and why?
Interesting question, well.
Icom. The IC 7400 and the IC 756 PRO II. Why?, because they are the best I
have ever used, bar none.
Collins. The 75A1, 32V1 AM set up. Why?, because there was the first ham
radio built by Collins after the war.
Ten-Tec. The Corsair II and the Paragon. Why?, great CW rigs and
filtering.
Kenwood. The TS940SAT and the TS850SAT. Why, state of the art when they
were made and easy to use.
Yaesu. none at all. Why?, I have only had two in my life, a 901DM and now
an FT 920.
Why?, the 901DM was a glorified CB radio and a piece of junk. The FT 920, I
bought in a weak moment at a dealer and regretted it ever since. Too much
$$$ for what it is and very poor reliability.
So, there you have it, my best and my worst list.........
Also if only that I could keep one brand of radio, it would be Icom hands
down.
