[Icom] Fw: Fw: 756pro/proII

I've got the 756 pro II on my short list of radios (and it still is) but
this idea that ICOM would design a rig that would damage itself if you
attempt to do something like auto tune on 6 meters is ?????

Maybe I am misinterpreting some of the comments on this thread.  How ARE you
supposed to tune up on 6-meters?

Thanks to all for clarification.

P.S. One other thought: when hams make a comment like,"ICOM told me......",
do they really mean ICOM engineering or a local kind of a service guy
(authorized service center??) who is speaking from his own opinion or
hearsay?
