Hi Bill,

Your perseverance and patience with that IC-761 are truly admirable! You
should be able to troubleshoot the ATU motor drivers. Using signal tracing,
you should be able to determine where the signal is getting lost in RTTY and
CW modes.

Hang in there, and Buena Suerte!

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Hi Folks,

Well, the 761 now has excellent receive, ALC action, AM, SSB, FM transmit,
speech processor.

Basically everything is now working except for the RTTY and CW and the
tuner motors..

When I ordered the xtal for the main board, I also ordered the motor driver
transistors and diodes for the tuner preset board.

It is amazing what about 25 new lytic caps will do. Most were open or
close to it. I also had to replace L8 on the PLL board because some moron
had jammed the slug all the way down and it would not come back up. This
gave me a strong plo output level.

I am determined not to give up on this thing. When I get done everything
will be working
