DALE, The tuner is not suppose to be used in the auto tune position when
using 6m. I didn't know that and burnt up a bunch relays in the system
by trying to auto tune it on 6m. Lucky I had 1 month left on my warranty
and got it fixed free. Here is what my repair bill said...REPLACED 3
DAMAGED RELAYS IN THE TUNER UNIT..USUAL CAUSE IS TUNER OPERATION IN 6M
BAND. TUNER HAS NO AUTO FUNCTION IN THIS BAND, YOU MUST RE-INITIATE TUNE
WHEN GOING TO THIS BAND OR MOVING FREQUENCY IN THIS BAND. Also replaced
out of tolerance caps. on tuner control unit.
I went to the menu set up and shut off the auto tune mode in the tuner
system.... My rig is a 756PRO and I guess the problem is still around on
the PRO ll and the manual isn't very clear. Try shutting your auto tuner
mode off and see if it will tune OK, if not call ICOM and see what they
say. 73 dale and good luck. My other computer is tied up so I couldn't
answer you on the reflector.
