Hi Bob,
I am using an earlier model and like it very much. That said, I have had a
lot of trouble with rf getting in and turning the radio off during transmit
in the vehicle. I switched back and forth with the stock hand mike and the
Heil 706 and it only happened with the heil 706. Unfortunatly it happened
on a trip and I had to finish out the trip without having the radio on
much. You see without the headset my xyl did not care for the static and
radio chatter over her CDs and FM stations.

I finally got around to wrapping the Antenna coax, head separation cable
and the mic cord on farrite (sp) cores and that fixed it fine. The newer
ones were supposed to have a filter in them. Check with Heil. I sent Heil
an e-mail about mine and Bob sent back a note to call him, well, he's not
in very often and I gave up trying.

Many other people with early Heil 706 headsets told me they had the same
problem. I figure that is why Heil went to filtering them.

The set has mucho audio and if I use it for 2 or 440 I have to turn the
radio audio to the off position. Anything higher and i get distorted
overmodulated audio. I have used it on occasion during contests and it
works fine business for me.

Hope this helps you.
Thanks
