Hi gang,

Well, the 761 is still quite sick. I spent almost 3 hours on the phone
with a retired solid state expert today and just about everything is
correct on it but it is still not working, in fact a few other things have
quit, like the speech processor, NB and part of the display is flickering.

So, I do not think it is really worth investing anymore time or $$ in so I
am going to retire it as a parts rig to support my other Icom's. Since it
has had so much work done on it by others in the past, I think professional
repair would be too time consuming and expensive and much more than the rig
is really worth.

My XYL was really the one that made my final decision for me. She asked
what I was going to use it for when it was fixed and I said a rig for my
shop. Her comment was, well if you want another rig for the shop, why not
just buy a new 756 PRO or PRO II and forget about it, (the 761).

Decision made. Thanks for all the help.....
