yes, 13.8 v dc, and the other jack, as the original, in the manual for the 
rig, is also 13.8v or less, 12v nominal. you need a bit more voltage that the 
pack is rated for so it can charge. so, 8.4v, the voltage of the bp-8,  needs 
more that that, 12v should do nicely. it is, as always the case for charging 
a battery, dc voltage.
