Hi William.
the powersupply on the IC 761 is strictly a 13.8VDC  powersuppy. You can plug 
a Icom mobile cable into the powerplug where the internal supply plugs in and 
you are off and running. I suggest that you use a 35 amp supply not a 20 amp 
supply. 20 amp supply doesn't cut it under load/voice peaks. If you have any 
other questions just ask. If you don't respond tonight It will probably be at 
least 5 to 7 days before I can get back to you.
