[Icom] 706PRO!!

Just spoke with someone in the know at Icom, and he
confirmed that Icom will be debuting the Icom 706PRO
at Dayton.  Same box as the 706MKIIG, but with DSP
based filters instead of crystal filters, as in the
756PRO and 746PRO.  In addition, the 706PRO will have
room for 1 optional module, which can be either a 222
mhz module, or a 1.2g module.  There will be an Icom
706PROMKII that will come with the 1.2g module already
installed.

The 706PRO will also come with a CW memory keyer as
standard, as well as a built in voice keyer, and will
include a RTTY demodulator as in the 746PRO.  

These are all the details that I got at this time
(April 1), but more should be available later.  A
picture and detailed description of the rig should be
hitting the Icom Japan website within a day or so, and
will be up on the Icom USA website within a week or
so.

Sounds exciting.  Better start saving the pennies now
for Dayton.
