Hi John,

Glad I was of some help. It is just as well that you discovered that the
radio is a "pig" before you bought it.

(We do not call bad radios "dogs" in our household.)

Cheers for now, 73,

Adam and the group:

Thanks for the replies -- further facts have developed and I
am guessing that the radio is like my neighbor's Volvo wagon
after being hit by an F250 at 40mph: the insurance company
did not total it, but should have. This radio appears to
have suffered a severe impact on the rear corner on the LH
side of the radio. The transmit and NR buttons do not work
at all, the ANF button works poorly, the key jack on the
front doesn't work and the mic connector is visibly bent
toward the center of the radio, consistent with an impact on
the LH side. I don't know whether the radio is, technically
speaking, "repairable," but I'm sure it would costs hundreds
of dollars and that the radio would, like my neighbor's
Volvo, _never_ operate properly or reliably again, no matter
how much money goes into repairing it. Not a good radio to
purchase, at any price, as far as I can tell, admittedly not
having taken the covers or faceplate off (and not seeing any
reason to, under the circumstances).

Tks and 73
