Hmmmm.... dunno.   I think he has it backwards.  I have not
used either, but I have a great deal of time with the AH-3,
which served very well as the MARS radio for the 11th Bde
MARS station while I was deployed to the Persian Gulf, and
also did quite well in several years of counter-narcotics
deployments.  OTOH, I believe the AT-180 is based on the
AT-100 design, which IS ham-band only.  You might want to
check carefully into this.

Another thing.  The AT-180 is designed for use in the shack,
but the AH-4 works best when mounted at the antenna.
