I am not too sure that by turning off the rig the power supply turns off is
a good idea.
I know of at least one ham who modified his power supply so that it would
not turn off so that he could run a 2m rig.
I have 2 power supplies plugged into a computer master control box, the one
that has a master switch, then a computer, monitor, printer and 2 aux
switches. (I managed to find one for the computer but have the computer
and monitor on the same plug.) This arrangement allows me to control a
number of ham things from the same place. I have been thinking of building
a big power supply to run all the ham stuff from. THne the other swithces
would be used for some of the other things like lights etc for the ham
shack. I am using the the idea that you may listen on many radios but
transmit on only one at the same time. Now to have the equipment so that
the Tx doesnot interfer with the Rx ers.
