[Icom] Icom , whats the real 2720 story?

Why would the xband repeat function be eliminated? I still like the
older dual band mobiles you could control with your HT and DTMF 
command to change freqs, even install the voice module to announce 
the freq you're on...Why did Icom stop making 'em that way anyway?
